Eating healthy is very beneficial, not only for the physical condition of the human body but the human brain as well. There is a very low percentage of Americans whom eat healthy. It can be difficult to find the time to eating healthy when managing your schedule and your everyday life. Many people may find to difficult to find the motivation to engage healthy eating habits. There are two different types of motivation, which helps to engage motivation in eating healthier. There are also many different factors, which must be taking into consideration when evaluating which type of motivation engages healthier diet habits.
Factors of Eating Healthy
There are countless benefits of eating healthy foods. They can make us look and feel amazing and become different person. Eating the right foods can improve skin, hair and nails, result in a metabolism rise, boost digestive transit, lower fat and cholesterol in the circulatory system or even just renew aging cells. Nevertheless, simply eating the healthy food is not enough. Getting the right balance is crucial. Balanced diets consist of the right amount of the main food groups united with exercise. This helps us stay fit and healthy and improves disease resistance and lifespan.
Hereditary factors such as eating disorders can greatly influence a person when trying to maintain a healthy diet. Kathy Hotelling, Northern Illinois University director of Counseling and Student Development, said research has shown that eating disorders can span generations, much like alcoholism, substance abuse and depression. The problem of eating disorders and distorted body images is not getting any better. In fact, Hotelling said the age of those suffering from eating disorders decreases each year. Eating disorders can influence trying to maintain healthy eating habits for reasons being that the disorder is in the brain. For an example, a person whom has an eating disorder may not realize or be able to control the urge to consume large amounts of food per sitting.
Environment factors can also influence a person when trying to maintain a healthy diet. Factors such as where a person works and how often they are home contribute to how healthy a person eats. For an example if a person works at a fast food resterant, they are likely to become obese for reasons being that they have access to fats and grease fourty or more hours a week. They are more likely to eat lunch at work and possibly take supper home with them. If a person is not home that often they are more likely to stop and grap a quick bite to eat on their way home. These factors can influence bad eating habits which interup the process of eating healthy. There are other ways in which a persons’ environment may influence their eating habits. One must consider how a person was taught to eat by their parents. If parents maintain unhealthy eating habits usually the children will grow up still maintaining the unhealthy eating habits in which the parents taught them.
There are five things you can do to improve nutrition and encourage healthy eating habits. The first step to eating healthier is to have regular family meals around the same time every day. This helps a person to maintain a regular diet. The second step is to serve a variety of healthy foods and snacks for the whole family to munch on. The third step is to avoid battles over food. The fourth step is to be sure to involve the kids in process of making healthy family meals. Finally the fifth step is to be a good role model by eating healthy yourself.
Maintaining healthy eating habit is difficult but not impossible. There are many factors, which may influence a person when they are trying to maintain a healthy diet. Extrinsic, intrinsic, hereditary and environment factors also have a great impact on maintaining a healthy diet. One must have their mind set to eating healthy in order to maintain healthy eating habits. The motivation, which engages healthy eating habits, starts in the brain and must be constant. Trying to maintain a healthy diet is more effective when the person is constantly remembering and trying to eat healthy. It is also very important to involve children in the process of eating healthy, so that they also maintain a healthy diet.
